Museum Curriculum

This gallery Experience Map was created during an independent study with the head of adult learning at the Brooklyn Museum. The lesson focuses around the show Nobody Promised You Tomorrow: Art 50 Years After Stonewall to be taught by 9th grade art and English teachers collaboratively. Students learn about the creation of community in art through creating their own versions of maps of Brooklyn based of LJ Roberts piece: The Queer Houses of Brooklyn. In English, students learn about the queer community through reading Tell the Wolves I'm Home by Carol Rifka Brunt.

Postmodern Principles Museum to Classroom is a summer program proposal that can be implemented in a contemporary art museum within New York City. It is centered around Olivia Gude's Postmodern Principles with students getting to learn within art museums from works of art and then create in the museums studio spaces. The program finishes with students completing a research art project around the principle of "Representin'".
